Hello and welcome to another season of shooting. The directors of the LCTL are excited to present the 28th Road Runner June 11th 2011! The birds (trophies) have arrived, pins ordered and door prizes are being collected.

If you are unfamiliar with the LCTL Road Runner, it is a 400 registered target event held at clubs who are hosts in the LCTL. It is a fun event with trophies for 5 individual classes, High Gun, Vet, Lady and Jr. There are trophies for the high scratch team and a high handicapped team. All teams will be classified and given a handicap based on the 2010 and 2011 ATA averages.

Enclosed are the rules and an application for the 2011 Road Runner Marathon. As a team that participated last year, I invite you to register for this year's event.

Please read the enclosed materials carefully to ensure you reserve a spot for your team. If you have any questions, I may be reached as follows:

    Home (585) 657-7507
    E-mail: peterh3200@yahoo.com

    Rules/Information:

    1. This event will be shot as a five (5) man team- 28 team maximum.

    2. Four hundred (400) solid orange White Flyer Targets will be thrown at the following clubs: Mt. Morris, A-On-Do-Wa-Nuh, York, Mumford, Lima, Conesus Lake, and Springwater. One hundred (100) targets will be shot at each of four (4) of the seven (7) clubs. This is a long day that depends on shooter cooperation to finish on time. Teams must arrive at each club on time and be ready to shoot when your squad is called. If the field is available early, please shoot early!

    3. Starting times will be 8:30 AM, 8:50 AM, and 9:20 AM. Club shooting rotation will be as listed above. Starting times and starting club will be drawn on a lottery basis once all applications have been received.

    4. All teams that shot the 2010 Roadrunner have a priority for 2011. 2010 teams must pre-register by April 22, 2011 to reserve their spot. This date is firm. Applications received with a postmark after 4/22/11 will be treated as a new team and put on the waiting list.
    5. New teams can apply to shoot and will be placed on a waiting list in the order received by postmark. Those teams on the list will have preference for any new slots that may open up.

    6. Cost will be as follows: 400 targets @ $76.00 + ATA and NYS ATA daily fees of $4.00 = $80.00 x 5 team members = $425.00. This is $19.00 per 100, and a $5.00 Administrative fee. If your team enters and does not show up for the event, the total entry fee minus $150.00 will be refunded to the team captain.

    7. It is the team captain's responsibility to ensure the application and check are returned before the deadline and that team member's addresses and squad positions are correct. Starting time and starting club will be returned to the team captain only. It is also the team captain's responsibility to inform other team members of starting time, club, and squad position.

    8. Classification by the shoot committee will be after April 22, 2011 and will be based on your 2010 ATA average, targets shot to date in 2011, and known ability. A minimum 400 16-yard targets will be required on your 2010 and 2011 cards to be classified. Penalty classification will be no lower than class B.

    9. Team handicap trophies will be awarded. The number of team handicap targets assigned will be based on individual averages, with assigned penalties if shooter minimum target requirements (400) are not met. The handicap system will remain the same as previous years.

    10. All team and individual ties will be decided by reverse score of 400's (team) or 100's (individual).

    11. One trophy only per winner.

    12. Options MUST be paid with the application. All payouts will be to individual shooters by mail. Options are:

    A. TEAM LEWIS CLASS = $25.00 (Divided 60/40 high gun, 1 class for each 5 teams, 2 classes max.)

    B. INDIVIDUAL LEWIS CLASS ON EACH 100 TARGETS @ $5.00 PER 100 = $20.00. (Divided 50/30/20 high gun, 1 class per 20, 4 classes max.)

    C. INDIVIDUAL LEWIS CLASS ON 400 TARGETS = $5.00. (Divided same as 12b)

A dinner for shooters and guests will be available following completion of shooting and prior to the award's presentation. Everyone is invited to join in for a great meal, excellent conversation, door prizes, company, and good shooting stories! The location, menu and cost will be included in the mailing indicating your team's starting time and club. Reservations can be finalized on the day of the shoot at your starting club. Plan to attend the dinner and awards dinner afterwards and be sure to bring that significant other with you for prizes and a fun time.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

    Sincerely,
    Peter J. Hamann
    Road Runner Shoot Director

For those who have not shot this event it is a lot of fun.

there are trophies for teams as well as individuals with a banquet right after the shoot. There are spots available for individuals if you would like to join a team!
    Thanks
    Peter

    Pete,

Are the spots beginning to fill ???

As I remember, these Road Runner shoots are most always a "Sell Out".

    Good luck !!!

    Hey Dave
In the past there was a waiting list for teams but that has dropped off some.
I have 10+ teams so far. How about a team from SC? My team has been shooting this for almost 13 years. Tell Judy we said Hi.

    Pete,

A team from South Carolina would be great BUT it is a little far to drive...LOL

Although when seeing Ontario Delegate Paul Shaw at this shoot, I guess with the drive he has to get there, the shoot has to be a good one.

Thanks for the update. Sorry the participation has dropped...I remember several years I could not get on a team because they were all filled in the beginning of the year.
