    It's only a matter of time until we will be able to create complicated assembly's with a 3D printer.....very similar to a replicator portrayed on Star Trek. Making firearms by this process will be possible in the future. Actually making the assembly is the easy part......it's the materials that pose the problem.

    There is a prototype "3D printer" that uses concrete as a medium to build small houses. Anyone see the dollar signs here??????

    BTW the technology has been around for decades, and is quite common in the prototype business....called rapid prototyping......you create something in a solid modeling program, then email it to someone else who produces it on site halfway around the world.....it's really similar to taking and sending a digital photo.... it's just in 3D.

    We have one of these at the school where I work. By now they may even have two. I do not work with it but a friend has to keep it running. It is not a cheap thing but it does amazingly detailed work. They first got it maybe five or six years ago.
