I just bought a new 391 parallel. I have the 40DX and 45 DX and 42.5 DX spacers. Which one should I use? What do the numbers mean? Please advise. Thanks.

Read the owners manual and everything will be explained.

Didn't have an owners manual. Only thing I can find is online and it was very vague as to what the numbers actually mean. The dealer must have the owners manual and didn't give it to me. I will find out Tues.

If you look closely at the edge of the shims you can see what changes it will make. The thick side will shim to the opposit side. Those shims work for cast-on and cast-off just by flipping it over. You can also shim the stock up or down with those shims.

One thing to keep in mind, is to make sure the plate that goes on the stock bolt has the same number exposed as the shim you are using. If this isn't done you could be putting the stock in a bind causing it to fail!

My 391 manual was under the foam in the cover of the shotgun case.

Thanks FrankJ, I will have to check. It feels glued on. I'll check again.

By the way, the manual does not tell you what the numbers say, unles the DX 40 stands for 40mm of drop? Am I right?
