There are many thread of the opposite, even one started by me.

Can a 390 barrel be used on a 303 without modification?

dmarbell, if its the barrel that I'm trying to sell you are asking the question about no it will not. I just found the sheet I was looking for. It was my mistake on the 390. The 303 barrel will fit only on a Browning B-80, AL, 300, 301, 302 and a 303.

Another question for you! If the B80 barrel will work on the 390 why won't the 303 barrel work on the 390? I know the exhaust ports are in a different location but so is the B80 different from the 390. I've never tried it but use a B80 32 inch full choke on a the 390 almost every week.

Basically the B80 is a 303. They interchange, and I do it. I have one of each barrel on my 303 and you can't tell any physical difference other than the markings.

Actually its easy to tell the B80 barrel from the 303 barrel just by looking at the vent rib...the B80 has straight posts while the 303 has 'arched' or bridged posts...very simple.

Although they may both shoot well, I prefer the classic profile of the 303 barrel.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
