3200 bottom barrel fails to eject hull most of the time, but not all the time. Any ideas on what to look for? Everything looks clean and unbroken.

Hammers and sears in the forearm cock and release properly, so nothing seems broken there. I don't notice any broken parts in the action, the "trip rods" for lack of a better term are not broken. They move freely so it doesn't seem to be a buildup of some sort. Only thing I noticed is the small spring that should ride in the cutout on the underside of the rod for the bottom barrel is not staying in the groove like it does for the top barrel.

Seems the rod is getting pushed back into the action before tripping the sear in the forearm?

Works fine for me now that I have the gun apart, but it wasn't when I shot it two weeks ago.
