I just bought a Remington 1187 12 ga (sc np) sporting clays nickel plated with a 30" rem choke, light contour, factory ported barrel. Is this a factory setup or did someone change the barrel? Is there even a remington 30" rc, light contour, ported barrel available in nickel or did someone have this plated?
    Thanks

That gun came only with blued barrels. I have never seen or heard of a Remington factory shotgun barrel that was nickel plated.

That is how it came Brian...you had a choice of 28" or 30"

If you are talking about the receiver and not the barrel, then yes it is factory.

    Dear Brian:

Thank you for visiting Remington Country. Yes, we did offer the Model 11-87 in a Sporting gun with a nickel barrel in 28" and 30 " barrels.

    Customer (Brian Meyerhofer) - 02/05/2008 02:28 PM
Did remington ever make a nickel barrel for the 1187? If so, what lengths were available? and are nickel barrels still available?

    Thanks

lugnutz: I think you read the catalog wrong. Only the Premier Sporting in 12 gauge has the nickel finish and a 30" overbored barrel. That is a different gun from the regular 12 gauge sporting which has a blued finish, a 28" barrel, and is also available in 20 gauge with a 28" barrel, and 28 and 410 with a 27" barrel.
