Krieghoff K80 and K20 28 ga guns have 3" chambers, but I had never seen 3" 28 ga shells. Not sure what other guns are chambered that way. Seems like a solution looking for a problem to me.

Fiocchi has been offering them for some time. I believe 3" chambering of 28ga guns is a european thing, it wouldn't surprise me if Beretta 28s were 3" chambered as well, same w/ Perazzi.

you can order a Perazzi 28 gauge barrel with 3" chamber...no problem at all getting it built like that from the factory, without any additional expense.

FWIW, RST is making 1 oz 28 ga in 2 3/4" @ 1300 fps. This load is dev-a-sta-ting on pigeons. I can't imagine needing any more 28 ga than this shell. l.g.

Winchester also makes a 1 oz but it is only 1205 fps.

Some of the early 28ga guns made in the USA were chambered for 2 7/8" shells. The shells were discontinued years ago.

I have 2 flats of 1 oz loads from Winchester 23/4" shells at 1290 fps.I impressed my friends taking doves at 40 to 45 yds. They thought they were 3/4 oz and I didn't feel the need to tell them any different.I bought them for $8 a box at an estate sell.I think they are normally $18 or $19.Expensive little bugers.I took one apart. It had 2 different powders and a 2 piece wad.

Are 28 gauge pigeon events restricted to 3/4 ounce of shot?

My 687 EL Gold Sporting II has 2 3/4" chambers.

Knowing what is possible with standard shells, Caza de Orbea nontheless, using this gun and tight-ish chokes, I can't imagine wanting a 3" 28 ga. shell.

We all shoot 28s in Argentina and we sky bust them, pushing these little guns to their very limits.
