i think the poll is misleading. If you read the 2nd amendment it is giving the right for the people to bear arms and form a state militia in order to protect the people.

It's kind of odd how the question is phrased. Of course most will vote yes, but would a US supreme justice say no. Because the 2nd admendment doen't give us anything. It Guarentees our right.

2nd amendment rights were lost in 1968 thanks to the asshole that built a thompson with parts purchased in his 8 year old daughters name. He then published an article in Argosy Magazine, I think, and the resulting furor led to GCA 1968.

Only free people can own weapons.

The '68 GCA was a result of the political assassinations and the civil upheaval (riots and bombings). Never forget that one of the biggest proponents of the '68 GCA was Charlton Heston.

And the poll smacks of the same old crap "You have the right to join the National Guard". It's totally ignorant (no surprise it's the media) about the different types of militia, and that the National Guard is no longer the militia but a federalized agency which the Second Amendment was designed to balance. In fact, the National Guard didn't even exist at the time of the Revolution.

I think it is rediculous that we let pornography, and media run rampid under the first ammendment rights, and they say there is nothing they can do because it is their right, but yet we can put mandates and stipulations on the 2nd ammendment (whats wrong with that picture??)
