Lots of free data on the Alliant and Hodgdon sites.

Ballistic products sells a good manual too.

Universal has been a stand by. I am using Longshot and Lil'gun for hunting loads.

    20/28 is also popular.

I too am with Don on this one. Alliant 20/28 is very good and Hodgdon's Universal Clays is also a good solid powder as well. Most all 28 ga. reloads are listed for 1200 fps. If you want more than that then you will have to switch over to longshot powder made by Hodgdon as well. You will lose hull life in the 28 ga hulls if you kick up the speed, just so you know. Go to Alliantpowder.com or to Hodgdon.com to find the DATA listings for all your components. Good Luck and Break-em all. Jeff

I use Hodgdon Universal Clays and have had excellent success.

I would also recommend Universal Clays or Unique.

HS-6 or 540 work well in the 28 gauge, they are the same powder. HMB

    A Price,

You have to buy HS-6, it is the same powder. They no longer make 540. HMB

I have been using Hodgdon"s Universal for years, 13.2 grains in AAs with Winchester wads. Hodgdon's manual recommends 13.8 for Remmington hulls. The power also works very well in the 20 gauge.

Best load for the money---13 grains of Unique with 3/4 oz shot at 1200 fps
