If only you were closer. I had the opportunity to shoot a bunker for the first time in Kansas this last weekend. I shot a 17 and a 20 my first 2 rounds and went back the next day to shoot 2 more rounds but only shot a pair of 15's. The people there said that was good for the first time ever shooting it but I don't know if they were serious or just being nice?!

It was a TON of fun and I can't wait to try it again!!

Anyone close to you should definitely shoot that shoot.

Just so I can say I did it, I shot a round of bunker with the old style 3 3/4 dram, 1 1/4 oz. of 7 1/2s going 1330 fps.

I'm convinced that any benefit gained by the extra 3/8 oz of shot is more than offset by the fatigue induced by the recoil.

And, even with all that shot in the air...you can still miss.

The Ontelaunee Rod & Gun Club is about 20 minutes Northwest of Allentown, PA and there are plenty of nearby hotel rooms and a nice K.O.A. campground 10 minutes away.

I broke a 21 and was thankful to have it. Staying in the gun for the second shot with those shells was a genuine effort. Fortunately, all but one of my hits was with the first barrel. I don't know how those guys did it back then. I'd have Parkinson's before I shot 1000 targets. ;) -JW
