It's time for the great Minnesota State Shoot!

Today was the Youth Day, and it was a tremendous success. Visit our State Shoot specific website at www.minnesotatrapshooting.org for updates and links to daily scores and photos. This website is available ONLY during the State Shoot, and closes down after the last day of the Shoot. All information after that point will be available on the MTA's official website at www.minnesotatrap.com.

All photos will be shared using Flickr. Today's photos can be viewed at http://www.flickr.com/photos/82273910@N07/sets/72157630505002052/

    Enjoy!

    Day 1 Results!

Hot, hot, hot--that was the flavor for the day. Sunburns abound and the water jugs ran almost dry by the end of doubles, but a good time was had by all.

Congratulations to all winners! More pictures to be uploaded soon, and don't forget to check out the Minnesota Trapshooting Association's Facebook page or our State Shoot website -- www.minnesotatrapshooting.org.

Still hot but the wind today helped a lot. The High Over All started today, and lots of out-of-state shooters arrived to take part in the event. Today's events were named after last year's championship winners--Nick Kubasch Singles, Richard Wolf Handicap, and Eric Munson Doubles.

Sheese Lit, you must never plan to come to Minnesota again. Scott could crush your head like a coconut.

Mediocre. One of the hotter ones in my memory. Kinda reminds me of shooting in Sparta!

Well Ron, I admit that when I play a certain song on my banjo...oh, never mind. :)

Now what happened to the "daily" scores that were supposed to be on here?

    Who won what?

I'm so sorry--the internet was spotty at best and all my attempts to post were thwarted.

Thwarted. Kind of a theme for the week :)

I promise total scores as soon as they're all up, but here's the Champs!

Our 2012 Minnesota State Doubles Champion is Scott Gens!! Scotty shot a 99x100 in windy weather and did it all with a smile on his face.

Minnesota's 2012 State Singles Champion, after a brilliant shoot-off, is Glenn Linden! Glenn hit all 200 targets and did it in style. He also worked his butt off all week helping run the shoot.

Finally, Sunday's Handicap Champion shot the only 99x100 in the field. Scott Messenger took his first Minnesota Championship Title and I've already ordered his ring. You too, Glenn.

    Congratulations to all our Champions!

Wow!! Big congrats to Glenn and Scott Messenger! Way to go, guys! Great to see your name in future shoot programs!

And Gensy, you're always tough. And I take back what I said about your timid husband...I hear he actually wears the pants in the family.

Good shooting to the three Champions! All good guys, to boot.

We at Prosoft are thrilled to hear about Scotty and Glenn Linden who purchased a stock from us at the Great Lakes Grand for his Ljutic. He ran a hundred the second day he had it in Michigan for a 198 and a trophy.

Not really surprised to hear he ran the 200 as he is a VERY good shooter!

Congrats from Prosoft Recoil Systems Nate/Phil Simms!
