Sorry guys & girls. My first attempt to post the photos I took in Thurmont showed just how little computer savvy I possess. I will now try again. Please bear with me.................

IF this does display, I want to tell everyone what a great job the folks in Maryland did to get ready for this year's 112th State Shoot. Their first comments to everyone were "Thank you for coming". I am certain that it will only get better, as they continue to make even more improvements to their home grounds in Thurmont.

    OMG you're correct Calvin!

Paul Frank and David Feaga are responsible for producing the facilities and infrastructure. Paul has devoted years of hard work, money and expertise to bring the grounds to where they are today--without his stewardship it simply would not exist. Dave's contributions of sweat, time, and personal commitment are very significant too. Many individuals contributed in different ways including the donation of funds and by helping out in smaller, but just as important ways.

In general the Maryland association, and the rest of the Maryland trapshooting contingent at large for that matter really have a family feel. Like most families there are a few "more lovable" individuals than others, but in general we all work together well and play together well too--left handed step children 'n all.

In the interest of transparency and full disclosure there was one incident of larceny reported that transpired late one night. Due to the active investigation in progress I cannot comment further at this time. Rest assured however that the perpetrator/s shall be held fully accountable. Where I'm from ya just don't mess with a fella's Jack Dainiels and expect to get away with it......

Here's a picture of the squad I had the privilege of shooting with for the Handicap Championship event: (right to left) Paul, Gordy, Butch, Jeff & Me

We had a great week. Onward to Winchester!

Was the attendance up or down from the previous year at Millington?

Guy, thanks for the link. Dirk, talking to Dave Saturday morning the shoot was up 20% over the previous year, don't know how it ended up after the weekend.

It was my first State Shoot and I really enjoyed it, very well run and great targets, everyone involved deserves a strong pat on the back for a job well done.

I was told by those ciphering the numbers that the delta was very close to par with last year i.e. < 1% (+/-). More to follow as the metrics are finalized.

I did notice several absences, and several new faces not seen before on the Eastern Shore. I’m not sure what the ratio was thereof however.

I was disappointed with some of those from DE and the MD eastern shore who chose not to come—after all we westerners did came their way over the years.

    You are correct.

I had to hit F5 to refresh my browser. The 2011 results were cached.

    Thanks.
