Jacob Gogno of Cressona, Pennsylvania was crowned the 2011 Perazzi USA Grand Prix Champion in Olympic Trapshooting on Sunday, July 10th at the Keystone Shooting Park facility near Dalmatia, Pennsylvania. Jake fired a 199 x 225. The Silver Medal was won by Paul Mullen of Laurel, Maryland with a 196 x 225, while the Bronze Medal was captured by Brandi Hobbs, of Edinboro, Pennsylvania with a 195 x 225. Brandi also won the very unique Perazzi Family Cup trophy. The top six finishing competors using a Perazzi firearm qualified for a special "One" barrel final in which all previous scores were eliminated and the top final score among the six finalists won the trophy. Brandi fired a 21 x 25 to win the event. The Silver Medal went to Jake Gogno, while the Bronze Medal was won by William Kalwas of Rochester, New York.

We were very blessed to have Dan Lokker of Giacomo Sporting USA bring his gun smithing trailer to the event. Giacomo Arrighini was also present to represent Armi Perazzi of Botticino Mattini, Italy and Perazzi USA and present the awards along with his son-in-law Dan. Primo Scapin of Canada made a special presentation to the Keystone Shooting Park from the L'Acadie Gun Club near Montreal, which was the site of the 1976 Olympic Shooting events. We received a beautiful framed photo of our ranges name sake "Don Haldeman" on the podium with the other medalists for our club house. Primo was also fortunate enough to shoot his first 25 straight in Olympic Trap in his career this weekend. In keeping with tradition, Primo's hat was shot to pieces by our competitors and rightly so, since he was wearing a Beretta hat at a Perazzi event.

I would like to thank Ron Jardin for taking many of the photos contained in this thread and also to his wife Rita for all of her help at the range this weekend. Without both of them, my job would have been made a lot harder. I also want to commend my staff of assistants; Stephen Kawryga, Donald Koons and Ricardo Alcantara. Likewise to all of the parents that kicked in during various parts of the event. Many thanks to you all.

One last congratulations to Brandi Hobbs for being the first shooter to fire a 25 straight in competition at our range. WELL DONE!!!!!! Brandi and fellow female competitor Ann Jardin will be joining both myself and Robert Kalwas as we travel to represent the United States on the Grand Prix circuit at both the Munich Grand Prix in Munich, Germany and the Grand Prix de Cernay in Cernay, France next month.

I hope you all enjoy the photos.

    Best Regards,

    plaw,

Thank you very much. The Perazzi family was very generous with their support of our efforts and it was deeply appreciated by all.
