Double Trap Results from today in Maribor Slovenia:

    GOLD FRANCESCO D'ANIELLO ITALY 190
    SILVER JEFF HOLGUIN USA 186+2
    BRONZE NAN WANG CHINA 186+0

    4TH GLEN ELLER USA 185
    5TH JOSH RICHMOND USA 183+5
    6TH ROJAN SODHI IND 183+4

Three USA shooters from the United States Marksmanship Unit at Ft. Benning, Ga. made finals for double trap in Maribor Slovenia today. The weather did not want to cooperate, but caused the final to be even more interesting than usual with relatively low scores produced. The sky was dark, windy with the threat of rain and lightning. Targets were flying in unexpected directions. When the last pass was made and guns were lowered, Francesco D'aniello won the Gold, Jeff Holguin was tied with Wang from China and Josh Richmond was tied with Sodhi for 5th. Josh shot off and came out in 5th with Sodhi finishing in 6th. Jeff shot off and won the Silver leaving Wang in 3rd. The team of three shooters from the USA tied the world record for team event winning the Gold Medal. Congratulations USA Team! Josh Richmond and Jeff Holguin also are ATA shooters, Josh from Pennsylvania and Jeff from California.

USA Juniors did great too! In Junior Women's Skeet Amber English won the Silver Medal, Ali Chiang finished 4th and Caitlin Connor ended in 6th. Together, they set a new world record for Jr. Womens Team winning the Gold. In Jr. Men's Double Trap Billy Crawford lost a shotoff for third which landed him in 4th place and teamed up with Derek Haldeman and Bryce Gearhardt to take the Team Silver. In Men's Jr. Trap the team of Collin Wietfeldt, Jacob Turner and Seth Toliti took Gold Medal. Women's Trap took the Bronze Medal with the team consisting of Molly Bender, Brandi Hobbs and Kayle Browning. Way to go Junior Men and Women! All of our Junior shooters are coming on strong!

Please support these shooters, they are our representatives to the world for the shooting sports!
