I think the time is coming that a 200 bird singles is going to be a thing of the past!

Say YES or NO at the beginning for a count.

What do you think and why?

How do you think this stuff up and why ?? I shoot alot of two hundred and more singles events every summer(called a Marathon)

If you can only shoot 100 or even only 50 singles the ATA has a spot for you . Alot of shooters showup to shoot 200 -300 and more every chance we get .

I,m looking forward to our spring Marathon 500 singles to warmup for summer .

Dump it! Unfortunately it's still a moneymaker for the club. Unfortunately again, it's become a giant miss and out event I'm no longer inclined to shoot. Maybe if the weather is near perfect-it never is it seems-I might be coaxed into it again.

As an older shooter-as most of us are-I'd rather spend my money for the 2nd hundred on a good meal and beer!!

200 makes for smaller shoot-offs or carryovers.

Are you suggesting that shooting 200 singles in one day causes more fatigue than shooting one hundred singles and one hundred handicaps? Post-2

Post two, it seems to me 100 Handicap is a walk in the park-especially when you realize your typical high 80's or low 90's score from the fence makes you an instant loser.

200 Singles event lovers might want to investigate their affliction with a qualified therapist. This continued need for perfection might be negatively influencing other areas in their lives and require some soul-searching!!

    Yes...

    I can only hope!

    100 is boring enough.

If you do away with 200 events, what happens to the grand slam? Marathons let you shoot some or all so they do not count towards a slam. Jerry

Well, it certainly is for me. I can't shoot more than 25 without a litle break. Old age and poor health are game killers.

I am not saying do away with 200 singles, I am wondering if shooters would rather shoot a 100 of each instead?

I have heard it is boring before, maybe a 100 bird wobble trap 16 yard shoot would be in the future? But downside is a new trap, kind of puts the Kabash on it.

I remember in the 70s when we shot a Modified Intl at Vandalia.

I think and this is my idea a 200 bird Grand American Hdp event.

I think more shooters like Hdcp than singles anyway.

What are your thoughts on this?

    Gary,

You mean replace 200 events with 2 - 100 events 3 hole targets right?

    TNCoach

P.S. I did have a couple of 300 days with 2 - 100 singles events and 1 - handicap event. The only problem was that most shooters waited for the cap event or left after the first 100. The help loved it because they didn't have to reset the machines for doubles that day.

Move the event to the 21 yard line and have at it.

Add a 100 target 2-3-4-5 hole event and interest will likely pick up!!

    I second Big Heap's idea, 100 @ 21 yards, or first 100@16, 2nd 100@20, or 28 gauge at 16 yards.
