In a 200 bird Hdcp event,100 in am and 100 in pm. do you earn a punch after the 1st 100 and shoot the 2nd 100 at a longer yardage?? If you shoot the high score in both 100's do you get 2 punches?? Just what the hell does happen??

Yes to both if there are enough shooters there for your high score to earn a punch.

    Page 22 section A 2010 rule book

"When a Handicap marathon event consisting of more than 100 targets is
shot, each 100-target sub-event must not begin prior to the awarding of
earned yardage based on the previous 100 targets. Shooters earning
yardage must shoot subsequent sub-events from the new yardage."

Yes on both questions, if you are doing well, it will not take you too long to reach the 27, then it doesn't matter, incinerate em!

Punch with the High score if there 15 or more shooters OR your score is 96 or higher. Larger venues you'll never (tic) see back to back handicap events, takes too long to punch and (possibly) re-squad shooters that got punched.

Is a pain in the a. We stopped having 300 handicap marathons at our club for just that reason. Too much time between rounds. We now shoot 100 caps, 100 singles and start before the first caps are finished, then another 100 caps.

Believe it or not, you save two hours that way and everyone is happier. The old way we would have so many cancellations for the third round because it was so late it was almost not worth doing. Now almost everyone shoots all 300 birds and goes home happy and early.

I always wanted to have a 150 bird event so that this rule could be circumvented and punches awarded at the conclusion. Shoot 75 then go back and shoot another 75. This way you wouldn't have to resquad any potential punches and everyone would stay on the sme squad as before.

I like the idea of a 150 tgt hdcp event. Would probably screw up any computer scoring and payouts.
