Benelli Montefeltro is a nice handling 20. I like hunting pheasants with them. Both the wife and I have one. being able to use 3" shells is a plus

    I use the Benelli M-2.

    It's sweet.

Just about any of the above will make an excellent choice. We use 391's.

To hunt with an 1100 or 11-87. I like Remmys to hunt with. But there is alot to be desired in their auto target guns.

Back awhile ago the were selling the G3 20 gauges new for real cheap $650/700, see if any are still availiable.

    Don't forget the Franchi AL-48.

    Light as a feather.

Browning Light Twenty in either Belgian or Japanese manufacture. Great guns.

I know the 20 gauge is usually a soft shooting gun, but how does the Benelli 20 M2 compare to the norm? Thanks.

I use a Beretta 391 in 20 ga. to hunt high volume dove in Argentina to great effect. It is the epitome of killing machines for that type of shooting in my estimation.

Pretty much all I shoot through the M2 is 3 inch Fiochis and it kicks but not bad. The comfortech stock soaks a lot of the recoil up.

My favorite 20ga semi-auto for hunting is the 1187, since it can handle light 2-3/4" and heavy 3" loads.

My son prefers his 1100 LT-20 3" Magnum, and he has an extra 2-3/4" barrel for light loads.

The 1100 20ga, particularly the Magnum model with its heavier action sleeve, has less felt recoil than the 1187 20ga, though both are quite pleasant to shoot.
