Just picked up a Citori 20ga o/u. Not sure what choke/load I should use for hunting pheasants. Thanks

Yup on the above answer, I use a F/M later in the season.

If one where to get technical then we'd have to know over dogs or without. What kind of dogs and their characteristics. Type of terrain. Hunted hard or hardly hunted birds. And then its a gamble on a given day so I will say that mine is light mod/light full. All I use are 2 3/4 inch nutrition.

Over dogs or early in the season, I'd use IC/Mod. Later in the season or w/o dogs, Mod/Full. As far as loads, 1 oz of 5's works great. Magnum loadings aren't necessary for pheasants.

I hunted late season SD birds last year right around New Years with pretty basic shells (1200 FPS 1 ounce 5 shot), using a SxS choked in IC & Modified, and limited out 3 days in a row.

    This was over dogs.

I am always over dogs and am hunting a mixed bag of quail and pheasant. I have 7.5 or 6's. IC then Mod. Just put it on them. If I am in heavy quail country, I have been known to kill them with a 28ga as well.
