Shooter information on the ATA website shows the 2 yard reduction, haven't recieved the new card yet in the mail but I intend to refuse it. Can I fill out the online reduction refusal form now or do I have to wait 'til I get the card?
My handicap average is a fact of public record, just go to the ATA website shooter information and type in my name which I have posted here many times.
FWIW I applaud the EC's willingness to TRY something, for those that choose to take the reduction......that's their business, I chose to refuse it......that's my business.
Well I guess with an average of 85 based on 300 handicap targets last year, it doesn't matter it you stand at the 21 or 19 yard line. Stand your ground John. Refuse that reduction. Trevor Dawe
The 2 yard reduction thing is interesting. Miles broke a 97 from the 23 at the South Dakota State Shoot moving him to the 24. He went to the Grand and shot 500 targets from the 24 - his last score at the Grand was a 94, and has not shot since then. Now he gets a 2 yard reduction to the 22. You want to partner with me to get him bought at the next calcutta?
From what I have read so far there are 2 confusing unanswered questions about this one time offer: 1) How do you accept just a 1 yard reduction not 2 yards? 2) Why does the ATA include the standard form letter for a normal 1000 target review even if it apparently does not matter if you earned a punch in your last 1000 handicap targets ? BTW I did not get the reduction offer and that is OK I'm not crying about it.
I'd be happy to partner with you to buy Miles at the next calcutta whether he accepts the reduction or not. I've shot with Miles and watched him shoot many times and I wouldn't sell him short at any yardage.
Trevor, my 400 Handicap targets in 2012 were shot in Helena Labor Day Shoot with a 91.0 average and my last 1000 targets were a 89.6 average and I never did understand just what group of targets were considered for the reduction. Our good friend from Mossleigh was offered the 2 yard reduction and although he has registered singles targets he has not shot a handicap target since 2006.
If you're so interested in MY buisiness I suggest you do your research a little better. #1 the reduction offered was from the 23.5 to the 21.5, #2 I shot at a WHOLE bunch more than 300 hncp targets last year.
John, public record at the ATA web site shows 100 singles at a 95 average, 300 handicap at a 85 average and 200 doubles at a 85 average. Grind them up. Trevor Dawe.
Also Trevor & any other of these well meaning socialists here that seem to think they know whats good for me better than I know myself,
I made a rather lengthy reply about halfway down the ".......YES or NO" thread about my reasons WHY I'm refusing the reduction. I have no problem with those that accept and what I choose to do is non of your God-damned business.
I really couldn't care less whether YOU took the reduction or not. If you feel the need to tell us why don't you post it over on the "YES/NO" thread? I've decided what I want to do about the offer, posted a simple question up at the top of this thread and promptly recieved my answer in the first couple of replies. Maybe YOU should take your unsolicited advice and stick it where the sun don't shine.

BTW, do you have a name? I hate trying to converse with somebody who doesn't have the balls to post his real name.........
2)I can ill afford to spend all day at a local trap shoot. So, I show up at about 11 AM and sign up for one of the last singles and erase an X off an early long yardage squad, and am done shooting by 2, 2:30 pm. If I shoot shorter yardage I will be invariably much longer at the club
3)Concussion from shooters behind me takes the fun out of shooting for me. the concussion cone is ahead of the 26 yard line.
I shoot against myself and against my past better days. I can still break an occasional 90 form handicap and for those few times during the season, those carry me form May to September.
I made money on the way up. Got to the 26 in 3000 targets and played the money. Now guns pay for my shooting.
This should explain it to everyone. This email was sent to all delegates by Kathy Key. Remember this is not an automated process and will probably not be in our lifetime. Therefore there are going to be some bumps, I hope they give Kathy a bonus this month.
Hello everyone;
The first two day’s that we were mailing the cards out we used the normally 1000 target review form so the shooter would be able to refuse it by mail.
However, after I received the first phone call on Monday the 23rd I told the girls to stop putting that in with the reviews. Therefore all the cards that went out last week did not have that form with the cards.
It was meant only for their ease of refusal.
It does not affect their earns that they earned priory to the 2 yards reduction.
I hope this helps you to let the membership know.
Kathy
Trevor Just to let you know ,,you looked at the scores for 2012 ,John had more scores posted in 2011,,,David Lang
