Going to try 1oz loads at 16yards, due to recoil sore shoulder. Have been using IC with 11/8oz average is 92. Will be using a XT. Can anyone help me out? I know I will have to pattern each choke, but just thought someone could get me started....Thanks

Briely Spectrum IM invector plus, has me back to 21.5 with great results 1oz loads. for what its worth I bought one of those Chambermates Gauge reducer inserts to shoot 20GA out of my 12GA XT 7/8 once #7.5 shot was crushing targets with this same choke. If you really like The IC just use it. If your score drop go tighter. I been shooting 1oz most of the year and loaded pretty slow to. Recipe data states 1145, great for recoil reduction. I also shoot the remington game loads 1oz at 1290 no recoil reduction on those loads, but they crush targets. Thats my best choke tube.

Well I have started using 1oz at the beginnig of the year and believe it or not I have seem to have done better. I shoot alot of games and so far this year I am ahead. I use NO 8's back to 23 and sometime at 25 but usually switch to 7.5 at 24 and on back. I don't load hot but the seem to do ok at the 35 and 40 yrd. I use and IM choke Briley. I have been loading with RexII and like the stuff well. I have several pounds of 700x I thought I would keep in reserve. I started on my 2nd 25lb of Rex II. Its just my thoughts.

I use 1 oz and a Mod choke at the 16yd. I shoot Mod for both the 1oz and the 1 1/8 loads. Really no difference in the breaks or the score. Looking to experiment with 7/8 oz next. Dave T.

The one that gives the most uniform 24" pattern at 35 yards with your gun and your load.

391 Dude, I've used several different chokes looking for the sweet one with my one ounce loads and though I believe I perfer a full, it is the factory Browning invector plus Mod that gives me the best scores from the 16.

I use full choke on 1 oz loads, smokes em. My average went up with 1 oz. I think that was due to the lighter recoil. I also shoot a XT.

I like the Full choke at the 16. There is no confidence builder like turning a solid into a vapor!

I use 7/8 oz at the 16 and for dubs. I shoot the one ouncer at caps. 25 in a match, 27 when shooting with my friends at the club (too lazy to move the speakers!)

I used 1 ounce of 8 1/2's at about 1145 fps the last couple of years in my full fixed choke remington 1100. It just vaporizes targets with very little recoil. I think the reduced recoil is the key to concentration.

Full or very close to it. And eights or smaller shot.

Neil got the answer to this question correct. He seems to answer most questions correctly. Could it possible be that he knows a lot about shooting trap?

From the 16? Light Full or Improved Modified, whichever gives the most uniform pattern.

Any choke is fine as long as it's full.

.035 as in FULL and either an ounce or better yet 7/8 oz of hard 8 1/2 shot. Crisp patterns all.
