My buddy called said he saw a model 12 with serial #363731
He said no rib on the barrel and a checked forarm
I will be able to view this gun tommorow and am hoping to get more info then,
quick check said 1924 as manufactured year, anybody have any additional info for me from these details
I thought one time on here someone narrowed it down to the month of production off the serial #

    Thanks in advance

The year the barrel was made was "often" stamped on the bottom of the barrel, between the barrel and magazine tube right at where it meets the receiver. I'm told that it's reliable but might be the same year or the year before the gun was assembled. I'm also told that the word "often" is emphasized because it mattered if the stamper person was present or eating lunch, or busy in the bathroom when the barrel went by his station.......breakemall

PS, I had #544205 and it was so stamped with a "28."
