    Don't worry about it. If you get good crimps, you are good to go. I would not be surprised if the shot set back in the wad upon firing.

    It sets back, a fair amount. I can't say if it covers a full 1/8 oz, but inspection of the bore should reveal if there is any lead streaking.

    Remington used to have a Power Piston for 1 oz that did not cover an ounce of shot, I used them for a long time.

    12S3 or Red 8 are the good ones for full chot charges, but if you use a dense powder, your choice is ok.
