I have not replaced the one that broke.

I have a magnum forend on it, with the fiberglass reinforcing. That will help, I am sure. I know several 1100 shooters that didn't bother with a new one.

The sheetmetal version doesn't cost much and is easy to install.

The "FOREND SUPPORT" that looks like it is stamped and the end sets into the reciever are what you can get today and were put on lighter models in 12 ga and the standard frame 20 ga. The other forend support you have is a "MAGNUM FOREND SUPPORT" and are not made any more. They are the only way to go and I have never had one break. The other stamped ones will break and a piece will get lodged in the trigger group and cause a lot of problems. If you can find one get it.
