The operating handle pops out of the bolt after a shot. I cleaned the plunger/ball area and lubricated it, but still pops out. Is there a way to remedy or repair this problem without purchasing a new bolt slide thing?...any ideas or help appreciated. It's not my gun so I won't be doing any welding or cutting.

Might be the wrong handle. Detents were located in two different places. Newer handles are universal for both types.

Probably need a new operating bolt retainer. Remington does not make them anymore since they went to a different design. I have 3 or 4 with my 1100 spares and will look for them. I will let you know.

Lubing that area helps the handle pop out. Clean the mating surfaces with a cue tip and rubbing alcohol and see if that fixes the problem. HMB

Use rubber cement. I had the same problem, and this works!

Gold40 - After you use the rubber cement, how hard is it to remove the both handle when needed?

When you are shooting you can do without it. Just put it in your pocket until you finish.

I put a dab of silver solder on the inner side of the v groove thet the ball sits in then filed it to where it was difficult to install. it never fell out again.
