Have the older trap barrel and the stud was long gone. I drilled out existing hole and tapped 6/40 then put a set screw in it. Anybody know how much I can leave for the deflector? Guess I can just shoot it and see but thought some might know max length. It also has the holes for the wire catcher so will add that as well. Thanks.

Pity you didn't just clean up the hole, because replacement studs are available.

Brian maybe it's better this way, an adjustable shell deflector. HMB

I weld a nub on and adjust by filing down the nub...works great and lasts longer than the factory one.

Thanks all, and Brian you are probably right. The way it is now I can adjust it up or down and replace with another set screw it that one breaks. I've got to shoot 800 more registered doubles to get my 25,000 so hope this works.

Actually the idea of an adjustable stud is pretty good, as long as the threads don't tear up the rims of any shells you want to keep.

Correct again Brian, I thought of that too so took course emery cloth and dressed up area of threads, actually rounded them off some. Will let all know how this works in the coming months of shooting. Thanks.
