OK, here's the problem that I've been having with my 1100: Every now and then the extractor is tearing a chunk out of the base of the shell. It doesn't happen a lot, maybe 1 or 2 per 100. A few particulars, it's a 3" magnum with the internal Morton? shell catcher system, I use it for skeet mostly. I thought that I might have a resizing problem but that hasn't been the case since most of the shells I've checked drop right in the chamber. I'm sort of thinking that it may be the recoil spring but I replaced that only last year. Anyone else ever experience this problem?

    Thanks.

When was the last time you cleaned and polished the chamber?

Is it happening on singles or just doubles?

It happens on singles or doubles and I'm using STS or gun club, whatever comes out of the bin. The chamber is shiny and the shells pop in and out when I check them. The gun gets cleaned about every other time at the range or it doesn't work right.

    Thanks.
