Looking for quick advice for 1 oz load. Using Remington Nitro 27 gold hulls, Clay's powder and Remington TGT wads. Does 16.8 grains of powder look ok? Maybe a differant wad? I also do not fully understand Wad Pressures. Thanks for your time

Go to the Hodgdon site, lots of data--you didn't mention what primer you use.

DO NOT USE A LOAD FROM ANY FORUM.

You have no idea what kind of fools "experiment" with loads and feel perfectly safe.

Go to the manufacturer's web site. If a load for your components is not listed, call the manufacturer or buy the correct components.

Your selection of components and powder charge are just fine with STS209 or W209 primers. Velocities will vary between the two. You should look at the Hodgdon's data to see what you'll actually be getting.

RE wad pressure; It is the amount of force used to seat the wad over the powder in your hull. Modern plastic wads need only the smallest amount of evidence that the wad is seated down on the powder; up to 10 lbs is plenty but 20 won't harm - more is simply crushing the wad which may or may not fully spring back to full length......breakemall....Bob Dodd

bkt514 at least three people have advised you to go to the Hodgdon site allow me to give the web address for that site.

dverna advice is very sound if you are just starting out reloading use only published loads by reputable reloading sites not what someone says is good verify what you have been told. Or you or someone innocent may get hurt not the guy that gave you bad advice.

Read all the data and published information you can get before you start loading and understand everything you are reading.
