Does anyone know what this wad is? I have been told that it is a Versalite but it isn't red. It has Pacific stamped on the bottom and it came in a Versalite bag with Versalite loading receipes but I am not sure what it is and I would like to know because it really hits targets hard.
The wad is a Pacific Versalite wad. Pacific made them first, then Hornady bought them out, then Down Range purchased the dies and began making them. Pacific Versalite wads were made in clear at one time.
If they are still soft and pliable load them up using reloading data for the Versalite wad. They seem to work equally well in both tapered and straight hulls. I really like them for my handicap shells.
Thanks everyone for your help and input. They do hit hard and I load them as 1oz. loads with @17.5 grs. of 700X. No recoil and the hit like a rock from my gun so I am ordering 5000 today.
Yeah, I did, but with 17 grs of 700X and 1 oz of 8's I wasn't too worried about it. PLus I checked them against pictures of Versalites and the only difference was that one was clear and the other was red so I was pretty sure that they were Versalites but I had never seen a "white" Versalite so I thought I would put a picture up here and see if they were what I thought they were. And they were. I was just told that they were never made in "white".
