Duane, I've not paid enough attention to fill your mind with details but I'd guesstimate at least 130 and closing in on 150 competitors, many Oregon All Stars but missing some competing at Kingsburg and Spokane, all 12 traps and White Flyers performing quite well, 200 birds a day, finishing each day in a timely manner, shorts and T-shirts so far even when overcast, numerous 100s in singles, good handicap scores including our 12 year old with a 96, new cook in the restaurant doing well but not matching Sabrina from the past, RVs filling all slots, very few grumbles. You're missing a good shoot. I'll try to give a better report tomorrow....breakemall....Bob Dodd

OR State PITA results through noon the 23rd: This may be a little messy to conserve space:

Weather continues to invite shorts and T shirts, part sun and o'cast, mild breezes, still no grumbling RE targets and traps, up to 32 full squads of 5 competitors, RV space near capacity, free steak dinners tonight.

20th - Singles AA=100 but still in carryover mode and names not with me; A=100 Jeff Bounds; B=98 Harry McCabe; C=100David Weathers; D=97 Tom Copeland; Lady=98 Nadine Pope; Vet.=100 Bob Dodd; Sr. Vet=99 Russ Altenburg; Jr.=97 Cody Noble; Sub-Jr.= 97 Cade Miller.

20th - Handicap Champ=98 Geo. Millen; Long yard= 97 G. Smallwood; Mid yard= 96 Marcy Patridge; Vet= 96 Daro Handy; Sr.Vet= 95 Russ Altenburg; Jr. 96 Cade Miller.

21st - Doubles AA= 100 Dave Carter; A=100 Arvard Martin; B=94 Bob Bounds; C=93 Randy Gunn; D=89 James Cerveny; Lady=89 Nadine Pope; Vet. not decided?; Sr. Vet= 98 Don Schultz; Jr.=94 Kyle Beals.

21st - Handicap Champ=97 Daro Handy; Lont yard=97 Rich Shrode; Mid yard=96 Tawnya Beals; Lady=94 Karen Knight; Vet=95 Wayne Ward; Sr.Vet=96 Sam Sampson
Jr.=93 Kyle Beals and Cade Miller tie, Cade took trophy, Beals took money.

22nd - Handicap Camp.=98 McCorkle; R/U=97 Rodney Dale; Long yard=97 Darvel Price; RU=96 Jim Harrison; Mid yard= 96 Cade Miller; R/U=94 Robert Moncrief; Short Yard= 94 Mike Johnson; R/U=93 Russ Seaton; Lady=97 Pat Carter; Vet.=93 Clark Rollins; Sr. Vet=94 Gerald Smallwood; Jr.=89 Brandon Dale.

22nd and 23rd - 200 Champ singles - Champ 200 undecided but Kyle Beales and Gary Fogelson are in contention; Champ R/U=200 undecided; AA=199 undecided; A=undecided; B=197 Francis Sampson; C=192 undecided; D=191 Robert Leonard; Lady=196 Louise Siemens; Vet=198 Chuck Price; Sr. Vet=198 undecided; Jr.=195 Cody Noble; Sub Jr=187 Cade Miller.

I've left off the out-of-state and runner up scores on the singles to save space and will not be present for the Championship handicap or doubles tomorrow. I also didn't proof read my "report" so bear with errors in grammerarial idiosyncrasies...breakemall....Bob Dodd

Kim, it was clear shooting against Spokane and Kingsburg would be a bit of a burden even with the many, many miles from either. I don't know the whys or wherefores of modern calendering and getting too danged old to much worry about it. Today's weather, last day of the shoot, is a little more in the o'cast and cooler mode if it's anything like at home but it appears any threat of showers or sprinkles may hold off for the Championship H'cap and doubles.

Duane, without copies of Jenny Lynn's trophy report, I'd have lost a lot of motivation to study the score sheets much. Glad to be able to do as well as I did....Bob Dodd

Bill good to hear from you. This has been a very long spring, cold and windy. The BTC is thinking of moving out by Millican. Redmond is very hard to say what may happen to them, but the county want there land the last that I heard, Was hoping to see you this year at some of the shoots. Did you get your house built? Don't be a stranger an come visit. DE

Bob Dodd....great shooting!!! I didn't know anything about your recent surgery. Hope things are going better for you. Sounds like at least your shooting is, LOL.

Jen...congrats to you and the board for what sounds to be an outstanding shoot! All that hard work really pays off, doesn't it? (Are you totally exhausted today? Me too. We need a vacation, don't you think?) *grin*

As for the shoot conflict...I saw a few OOS names here on this post that would normally have been at our state shoot, but hey, it's a choice people have and have to make. It would be nice, though, if there were no shooting conflicts within the associations for big dates like that. It would be a win-win for both associations all around.

Take care, and shoot well, Jen! See you soon!

Kim, it should have been a pretty simple procedure - sounded like it anyway. I had a pinched ulnar nerve at the elbow (funny bone) and it was causing atrophy in the shootin' arm - all this from a 1966 injury on the job. The sawbones just opened up the area and cut a muscle then relocated the nerve under the muscle and reattached the muscle in the forearm. Sounded like a piece of cake but in the process he apparently irritated or cut some mini-nerves in the area and they hurt like crazy without probably actually doing any harm. I started with the 200 birds on wednesday at our state shoot and had to back off to 100 a day to live with the pain each night. As far as the one good score, I did that right at the beginning of the shoot and the rest of the squad wanted to call the Dr. and have the surgery too! I even kidded about having the left arm done to see if that helped my scores even more. BUT I always seem to shoot the world's worst handicap scores after accidently cracking 100 singles and history repeated itself at this shoot. I even chickened out on a shootoff and took the Vet. trophy instead. I expect the elbow will hurt most of the rest of the shootin' year so I'll likely focus on 100 sporties with some regularity. Sounds like you had a dynamite shoot too. Say hello to the Big Galoot!....Bob Dodd

Kim,

Congratulations Lady President!

I think you're right. We probably would have had a few more of your shooters and you would have had a few more from Oregon. The reason for our change was that school was still in session during our previous dates and we had a hard time getting kids to score and Junior Shooters to shoot the whole shoot. It worked much better for us this year.

Congratulations again!
Jen
