On Monday, Chicago Mayor Daley blamed the Ft. Hood Jihad Massacre on America’s love of guns!

“Unfortunately, America loves Guns. We love guns to a point where that uh we see devastation on a daily basis. You don’t blame a group.”

Your basic liberal response. Remember...liberalism is a mental disorder.

Little Richie has never really had to get a grip on reality, his Daddy was Mayor forever so the entire family has been protected by guns for his lifetime and it continues yet today ... The Mayor, Aldermen, Ward Commiteemen, all the way down to the block Captains are corrupt and the city has been a shooting range for gangs back to the Black Panther movements like the Black Peacestone Nation way back in the 60's and 70's ... I guess that don't count ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

What the hell does "you don't blame a group" mean?

Your local street thug doesn't yell "Allahu Akbar" before knocking over a liquor store. Terrorists yell "Allahu Akbar" before shooting up a room, but he doesn't want to categorize people. Easier to blame the tool than the "group".

Guess he'd feel better if all the Chicago gangs were armed with Molotov cocktails and spears.

Having lived in Chicago all my life ( I'm a senior vet; do the math) I think I bring some perspective simply as a long time observer.

From the crime standpoint, Chicago is really no worse than anyplace else based on it's size and demography. Read the paper or look at the TV news in any city and you'll see the same gang killings as in Chicago. However, as my old friend WPT points out, the corruption and mismanagement in government is monumental.

Daley has a power base born out of a political machine that has been in operation for a long, long time. He has basically mortgaged the city to pay for the political corruption. Taxes are high and going higher and still the city is bankrupt. If Chicago had won the 2016 Olympics, all that would have been worse.

Daley will always claim innocence of every political scandal, and find some scapecoat to place the blame on everything bad that happens in Chicago. So if it's killings, blame the guns, and you don't have to look for any other solution. (like the inadequacy of the gang task force, for example.)

It'a a system he's used for years. It apparently has worked because no one has successfully challenged his power. It's not about guns - in fact he might even like guns. I wouldn't be surprised if he had the latest issue of Guns and Ammo
in the mayoral john.

You wouldn't expect him to blame his potential supporters or their relatives would you?

Don't forget this is the same machine our great leader came from. An it wouldn't surprise me if Daley wants to follow in his footsteps to the White House.

I apologize to all the fine people from Chicago and who live there, I have friends living there now. But to say it's no different than any other city I have to disagree. Ever since Al Capone got a get out of jail free card signed by the mayor I think you can make an argument that Chicago is in the running for worst corrupt city anywhere. I have no conception how good people live there day to day. Not just gang bangers get killed, innocents catch bullets too, but it's not just the murders, it's the overall corruption in every facet of business in that town. Don't flame me I love my Chicago brothers and I understand anything less that a civil war will never change it.
