Release triggers are out there but they aren't offered for sale real often. I think the buttstocks may be interchangeable. Haven't tried it but recall reading it on here.

The 31 trigger is one of the most complex triggers ever made and few gunsmiths ever accomplished a decent release trigger, the ones that did are dead and gone. There are two types of triggers, early and later guns. IMO the early is the best and can be identified as a non tang trigger ( it does not have a tang extending into the stock and is all steel) I once had Allem work on a 31 trigger at the Grand, so you may call them?

Fred:

None of the parts interchange between the 870 and 31 including the wood. I don't know about release triggers but the 31 trigger (small and large guard) is not the greatest. They tend to be a little mushy and toggle upward when the sear is released. In my opinion the best one is the all steel large guard trigger on the later type 41 models.
