What about "Clay Delay?

I put in a traphouse in our backyard last year for myself and the kids. It is equipped with an old Western trapthower. We have alot of fun, but our near zero budget takes three of us to shoot. I would like to get that number down to two. Just wondering if anyone has tried the "Clay Delay" voice activated system and if so what they thought.

thanks, EW

I like the system a lot. I rebuild Western handset traps and turn them into automatic machines. When I sell the complete trap packages folks often get the Autopuller "Basic" model too. I bought three of these today as a matter of fact. You'll have to add your own twist lock connectors but you can't go wrong for the money. Bill also stands behind his product which is always a good thing.

I've got one of the early models. It has a noticeable delay in the timing of the release. I asked about it when I bought it. I got a story about the FCC and why it had to be that way. I just threw it on a shelf and wrote it off as a bad investment. I was suprised they are still in business. Now they say this has been fixed, but they can't update mine. But they'll sale me a "new" model at a discount...........
I'd go with another company

I too have a winchester western in the "backyard."

I had a Do-All before that with the "wireless release."

When I got the western machine I ordered the basic $99 "clay delay" voice puller and wired the remote control from the other machine to it. I put the receiver in the trap house. When I start the trap machine, I just put clip this package deal onto my belt and then anywhere I go, I can call for and get a bird, shooting by myself for practice.

Even if you were to use it with the normal plug in, I still think it is a great investment. I have used mine for maybe a year now, and have worn out one battery in the wireless remote, but haven't worn out the battery in the voice puller yet and it still works like a dream, no delay at all.

Total BS - I'm a design engineer. If the thrower's release is activated on a momentary switch closure, I could probably cluge up a circuit and put it in a box for you guys to use.
