My new Winchester select energy came in Thur, Put 300 rounds through it this weekend, awesome gun, weight and balance is very good. I hit more targets than ever. Recoil is pretty light in my opinion. Some people told me the gun will wear out quicker than Beretta or Browning, but I only payed 1000.00 for it NIB, so if it does I can throw it away and buy a new one. But for now I believe its a great gun for the money.

I bought my son a 400.00 Kahn to start shooting sports with, granted its a heavy gun,(I would like to find some lighter barrels) he is only 11 and needs something to look foward to in the future. A buddy of mine who bought his 10yr. old son a 4000.00 682gold E, moreless told me I was an idiot for not buying the Beretta. Oh Well. Kevin
Congratulation on that new shooter, Kevin. For me, I am certain that everyone has a better trap gun than me. Being a noob, I shoot trap with an 870 field gun I picked up for 230 bucks at Gander Mtn!!
Looking forward to my own "real" trap gun one day.
I really wanted the XT also, I was just looking for an inexpensive way out, my son started shooting sports and wants me to shoot, and I love it. I have a bennilli montefelltro I couls have used, but you know, you just have to look cool with a real trap gun
I havent shot much at all, and Im not knocking the guys with the expensive guns, I usually own the best fanciest there is with anything I do. But from watching the person that points the gun the best wins.
Kevin
You can get different barrels by purchasing another WinSelect with the barrel your looking for. Most guns in the price range of a WinSelect do not have optional barrel units.
