Mr Charles, I cannot make the cup this weekend. Neither will I get to the Open this year. I wasn't able to get a campsite for the Open. I guess I had better start looking for the Grand. Any lead on a campsite with full hookups for the entire Grand? I missed out on one for the open. Thanks Rick Gibbs.

Rick......did the IDNR tell you there are no camping spots? I heard there are plenty for the Open......just thought I would put that info on here. That came from the IDNR a couple of weeks ago. You might check with them again. For the Grand....that may be a tough one.

Guys, thanks for the info. The last that I heard from DNR was that I was in line for a spot. Then two emails and two RX messages later nothing. The last email that I sent last week came back undeliverable, someone said maybe router problems, etc. I was going to sublease a spot from a fellow in Canada, but he said he had to give DNR a 30 notice for sublease! Very perplexing, but I am used to dealing with the government. I was able to sublease for the Open and Grand this year. I waited too long and trusing DNR. I guess it will be just the SCTP and Grand shoots. Later, Rick Gibbs.

I hate to give out good spots but here it goes. If you want a nice camping spot with all the hook-ups. Stay in Marrissa, it's just about 3 mile up the road from the main gate. It's away from the crowd but close enough you can walk down,carrying your gun and shell bag.

If you don't need to burn up all that energy you can just ride on down and shoot. Real nice camp ground. Last year at the Grand they still had a bunch of spots open. Nuff said;

I guess the Marrissa camp ground is the road right in front of the entrance of the Grand then or pretty close to the entrance but I never went down that road but did notice they was having some kind of festival the same time of the grand was going on.

Ok it was the Coal festival click the link above.
