"The swooning frenzy over the choice of Barack Obama as President of the United States must be one of the most absurd waves of self-deception and swirling fantasy ever to sweep through an advanced civilisation. At least Mandela-worship – its nearest equivalent – is focused on a man who actually did something."

"I really don’t see how the Obama devotees can ever in future mock the Moonies, the Scientologists or people who claim to have been abducted in flying saucers. This is a cult like the one which grew up around Princess Diana, bereft of reason and hostile to facts."

Never seen so much positive opinion presented frenetically towards somebody who has never accomplished anything of significance in public service. Kinda scary...maybe the voters learned from baseball teams that heap millions upon those that are viewed as having some POTENTIAL..."only in America"...

Tell me any "tech type"; that lady who felt she would get free gas and a mortgage payment, I felt that was faked as a joke...the voice quality seemed to change or to have been spliced in when she went to the free stuff. It was awfully funny, however, but I suspect bogus unless shown explicitly otherwise.

I saw nothing that would lead me to believe the woman in question did not believe she was going to get free money courtesy of Obama.<br>

As far as anyone having the video/audio was real, sorry, it doesn't worj that way. The onus is on your to explicitly prove it is bogus, because you are the one bringing the accusation.

By and large, American voters are fools! They have repeatedly proven that by their selections, such as Jimmy Carter - even worse by their selection of candidates in the primaries.

Perhaps voters should realize that although "hope springs eternal", the voting booth is not the place for wishfull thinking.

I am not making an accusation about the validity of the tape; I apologize if it sounds that way. I am just asking the question because I perceived a change in the voice; maybe I am wrong, maybe not...not an entirely important point...just thought that perhaps the tape was bogus and made as a joke; a sarcastic joke if you will. It was, in my view, so ignorant and absurd I found it to be funny whether or not it was real.

Widomaker,
Actually the US made a very poor show of it during the War of 1812. The US was not prepared for war and faced numerous defeats.

The White House and most public/government buildings in Washington were destroyed in 1814.

But I agree with you. I don't give a tiny rats ass about what the Brits think. They are socialist dogs, and Americans are fast becoming like them. Not good role models IMHO.
