They have taken care of themselves and we and our children and grandchildren will be paying on this mess for decades to come . So middleclass tighten your belts you are thinning out . New business ? The government does not want it . They tax them to death.
So when election time rolls around and you vote for either of these two idots and they don't produce and or not accountable just remember you are going to be hit hard in your pocketbook .

Especially these people;

"Headlines; "Lawmaker Accused of Fannie Mae Conflict of Interest"

"WASHINGTON — Unqualified home buyers were not the only ones who benefitted from Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank’s efforts to deregulate Fannie Mae throughout the 1990s.

So did Frank’s partner, a Fannie Mae executive at the forefront of the agency’s push to relax lending restrictions."

From Gerald Werner in the London Telegraph:

"Can we stop bickering over whether Barack Obama or John McCain produced the sharper soundbites during a televised debate and look at the bigger picture? Granted that a bull market was always going to go bear eventually, in the relentless cycle of trading, what is it that has made this correction a global crisis? Answer: the sub-prime mortgage meltdown in America. And who was responsible for that? Answer: the Clinton Democrats. So why turn to them now? These are the most busted of all flushes.

In the words of a report by the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University: "Accounting for nearly two-thirds of household growth in 1995 to 2005, minorities contributed 49 per cent of the 12.5 million rise in homeowners over the decade... Without the sudden expansion of sub-prime lending, most of these homeowners would have been denied access to credit." In fact the sub-prime component rose from $35 billion in 1994 to $625 billion in 2005.

In 1999 the Justice Department was described as trying to establish "a system of racial quotas in lending regardless of credit risks". What on earth has the Justice Department to do with the housing market - or any market? The Federal Reserve was simultaneously employing legal threats to coerce financial institutions - most notably the Mae/Mac axis - to lend to financially ineligible people.

Now, after bankers were compelled to defy the most basic rules of the market and inevitably crashed and burned, the same liberals who forcibly distorted their activities are hypocritically proclaiming the discrediting of the free market. This market was not free: it was straitjacketed by politically correct fanatics. So far from this crisis demonstrating a "crisis of capitalism", it represents the second meltdown of Marxism within two decades. The first came in 1989 with the collapse of the Berlin Wall; the second has come in 2008 with the implosion of Frankfurt School Marxism in the form of legally imposed political correctness.

The authors of this were the Democrats. So, by what inversion of logic can that discredited party be seen as the solution to the problem it caused? Worst of all, its standard bearer is now Barack Obama, an extreme liberal who makes Bill Clinton look like Milton Friedman. If American voters are so infatuated as to elect him president, they will truly be turkeys voting for Thanksgiving."

Brooks, good find..clear and concise article. It's the ignorant fools like Maxine Watters, Boxer, Barney loves Frank, Pelosi, and all the rest wanting/demanding unqualified people to purchase a house they cannot afford...hell, some did not even have a job and now they are whining about not being able to pay...screw them all. I frikkin saved/sacrificed to buy my houses...20% down (too cheap to pay the mortgage insurance) and never in my life late. Pisses me off big time that these elected A holes screwed us and our kids over with this mountainous debt. FU all you democrat socialists.
