maybe first ATA shoot jitters? I know I was very, lets say not so focused at my first handicap event and also a bit tired. I shot single 92 then a 73 on caps@the 19!!! So far for me......I have learned to add the factory tubes to my hunting bag. A Briley spectrum IM has done me well, back to the 22. I just perchased a Browning Midas Full I intend to use from this point back.

Hey, don't make it harder than it is. I shot a .15 choke to the 25, and a .25 to the 27. I think it is a little open for that but it got me there with a 99 from the 25.5. I think the .25 is a bit too open from the 27 but it got me there. 1145 fps shell all the way to the 27. Still works unless there is a stiff wind.
Thing is, AFTER you pattern your gun, shell and choke combination, you can and will need to shoot JUST LIKE you do from the 16. Leads, holds, gun speeds, EVERYTHING--don't make it harder than it is! It seems much farther than it is but the angles are not as acute so swings and timing make up for the distance change. Now after the 25 things get a little more complicated. When you get there, and you will, you will figure that out too.
Forget about where you are standing and go kick some BUTT!!

Your first ATA shoot, a 96 and a trophy in singles, that is great. On the handicap event you and I might share a common problem. I have often shot a good 16 yard score and convince myself that after all of these years, I finally have the game figured out and I do not have to work quite so hard from now on. So, I go the the next event and don't work very hard. After all, I have the game figured out. I then discover that I don't quite have everything figured out.

Last March at the Southern Grand on a preliminary day, I ran the singles. Felt good. Shooting was easy. Next, I shot an 85 on handicap because I believed I was such a good shot I did not have to work to break targets. I got upset with myself and shot the doubles with a lot of intensity and ended up with a 97.

nailer123- I believe the situation you described above has much more to do with your mind than with your choke tubes.
