I can't see the point in trying to shoot wearing bulky clothes that make it impossible for my gun to fit correctly, or trying to shoot in the dark under inadequate lighting in a cold wind that makes my eyes water so badly I can't see anything smaller than the Goodyear blimp.
Am I a fair weather shooter...you bet your bippy!!
I'm a fair weather shooter, that's why I shot eight rounds on Saturday in a Tee-shirt and will shoot a case of targets today wearing the same thing.
I shot in very low temps one night, and about froze to death......had to wear a coat between rounds. Not fun, I'll tell you....
Yesterday, it was cold enough for a heavy coat in the AM..by noon, you could shoot in a sweat shirt, comfortably..That's N.W. Pennsylvania..Note, today we have about three inches of fresh snow. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!
You need to define "Fair Weather" Up here for me it's anything above zero with less than 10 mph winds. We are shooting a winter league now and the turnout is great. So far the temps are in the high 20's to low 30's, snow flurries, light winds, gray skies. So far scores are pretty decent. If you live north of the Mason/Dixon a little cold and snow don't mean much. I'd rather shoot in this type of weather than what we had at the Grand this year.
