What's General Clark up to these days? Would he be a better choice than the candidates running today? What was his stance on Gun Control? John

**The Clintons like him, That's all I need to know about him.**

You should know a few other things about him:

Among his many military decorations, Clark is a four-star general who has been awarded the Silver Star, five Defense Distinguished Service Medals, four Legion of Merit Awards, two Army Distinguished Service Medals, two Bronze Star Medals and the Purple Heart.

First in his class at West Point. In 1966, he was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to Oxford University, where he earned a Masters Degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics.

During thirty-four years of service in the United States Army Wesley K. Clark rose to the rank of four-star general as NATO's Supreme Allied Commander, Europe.

Hell, Jim101, he's almost as distinguished as you.

His service to country is honorable, but apparently he isn't smart enough to honor the Second Amendment as it was intended by the authors. One can hang a pedigree on him and give him a list of credentials a foot long,,but what good is it,,if he has sold out??

After doing a little research, his list of failures is as long as his list of accomplishments.

waterhouselake,

As a former USAF officer, I can testify to the truthfulness of your remarks.

This country has about ran the well dry regarding general officers that are worth a damn. The last one I would have "rode the river" with was General "Stormin" Norman Schwarzkopf. Perhaps also with General Eric Shinseki, but we see what standing up and telling the unvarnished truth got him! So far Gen. Petraeus looks like a fine leader as well, though I reserve the right to further analysis.

As far as Wesley Clark is concerned, he's just another ass-kissin' politician; like all too many of this country's general officers over the last 20 years.

Regards,

Mark

He is proof that even liberal Democrats have their generals in the military. He has chosen sides with those that dislike the military and side with our enemies in wars. It makes sense. If you want to move up some have to side with the libs who are in power at least half of the time in this country. So what if you have to stab your fellow soldiers in the back.
