Any good motel recommendations ? Last year we stayed at the Knight's Inn in Richmond. It wasn't terrible, but I'm looking for something better. I'm actually asking for your own personal experiences. The on-line opinions that some travel organizations post are pretty lame. Thank you. Bill

Bill,

The Fairfield Inn in Berea is pretty nice. A little more expensive than the Knights Inn, but nicer. Also a very easy drive to the gun club with less traffic than going into Richmond. Shoot well!

I am very familiar with the area. I went to school at Centre College which is in Danville. IF you truly want to stay at a nice place your best bet is most likely Lexington. The drive is probably about 45 minutes to an hour. You could also stay in Richmond, which isnt a bad drive to Berea (I think about 15 miles). We used to run beagles on the same grounds as the trap club when I was in high school. If I can get enough birds in to be classed in the class I should be in I will be staying in Harrodsburg. Thank goodness for friends from college. It will be about an hour drive from Harrodsburg but free lodging will be worth it :)

I would stay in Berea if I had a choice. It is a very clean college town, no bars though. Nice pizza joint, Boone's tavern and Blondie's ice cream shoppe.
Clean Wally World on the south end of town with several fast food types in that area. There is a short cut to the trap shoot from there too. As you come by the hospital going north, take 1016 to the right through town to the end and turn right onto 421. The next left ( about a mile ) is Muddy Creek which is the road that goes right to the club which is on the left. The Crawdad hole will be on your right. There is an entrance off of Muddy Creek onto the grounds before you get to the end or you can go by it, turn left and then into the main entrance. See you there, Nubs Wagner.

Nubs,

Thank you for the short cut to the state shoot from Berea. Right now most of the places were I wanted to stay and are within budget are booked. Apparently everyone else knew about these places that needed a room. I'll keep trying. I may end up at the Fairfield Inn that Diana recommended.

Thank you all for responding to my Thread !

Breakem all, but please not at the events were I'm entered.
Bill
