Peters high velocity 3 1/4 X 1 1/4 X 3 paper shot shells. In original box, 2 boxes. Total of 49 shells, 1 missing. Boxes in rough condition. Shells in excellent condition. Best offer.
Believe it or not those old shells will still go bang.
Years ago a friend of mine gave me a half box that he found in a family members estate. He dared me to fire one. Those shells arent any good he said. The only thing i had then was a model 12. Well lets find out. He backed off about 10 feet. I touched one off and along with the noise confetti flew everywhere. Those old cardboard wads were a little dried up. Also leaded up the barrel real good.
Probably a stupid thing to do but it made a believer out of him.
Those are newer than the ones I have. Actually I have both kinds, the star crimp with label, and the roll crimp with cardboard top wad. I don't have any box, though.
I have some Federal Monark, though a full box and some Hi-Power if anyone's interested.
As far as price goes I have to disagree a bit with big bird. I have found you can usually pick up full boxes like this one "new crimp" in 12, 16, 20 gauge for around $15-30 in very good condition (i.e. some minor wear to edges, no seam splits or shell protrusions etc). 10 and 28 gauge can be quite a bit more with 28 gauge by far the toughest and therefore the most expensive, more like the $60-100 range quoted above. 410 bore run around 20-40 for full boxes depeding on size of the shell. There are several different versions of this box as well with some commanding premiums too. Shells go anywhere from $.25 to $1.00 a piece depending on the age (sticker top wad vs crimp), shot size, etc.
i have some 16 gauge papers mostly remington, some winchester and federals. anyone interested? i think i have 24 total, thr rems have a sticker on the end. the wins have a rolled end. tim
