This hoarding stuff is out of hand.

Yes, I understand the urge to hoard firearms and ammo, but I think we should draw the line at the short MEC reloader bottles - the ones that hold shot.

I decided to order a replacement - reasons are irrelevant at this time - and find that all of my REGULAR vendors are out of them. Just think about it. Hoarding plastic bottle that have a hole at each end.

Do you honestly believe people are hoarding MEC shot bottles??????????

The real story is that when you're selling metallic ammo and reloading supplies as fast as you can order them and get them in, you don't waste your time ordering MEC shot bottles for inventory.

Cabelas has both sizes in stock and ready to ship as well:

Dang, the local Scheels had a half dozen on the shelf. If I knew they were an item we were hoarding I would have bought them all up. lol

WalMart had Federal .22LR in the 525 pack for $22.99, probably a dozen boxes. Not being a hoarder, I passed. If 22's are showing up way out here maybe the panic is coming to an end.

Well, I appreciated the joke, but the hoarding is just stupid. And the prices people are paying as a consequence of that stupid are WAY past stupid.

We've all seen this same BS come down several times now and the result is always the same. The hoarding eventually falls off and the prices never come down.

I guess that we've been bent over that way by the oil companies so many times for so long that we have just accepted the gouge as a way of life. And so long as we keep paying they'll keep ramping it up.

JMO of course

I see that some of the Gunbroker auctions for .22LR are not meeting the super high reserve now. A box of the aforementioned Federals went for $31.00 yesterday. Although there are still fools paying $60 plus.

Small town WalMart here they were in stock, with the 3 box limit. The gunshow was last week here so no re-sellers in play. Now in the larger town nearby, the Gander Mountain clerk said that as soon as .22LR hits the floor they are gone in an hour. Friday was their last shipment. They don't even bother to shelve them, just wheel out a cart. While I was there he fielded 2 calls for .22 ammo.

Today I learned from the x-machine shop manager for H-S Precision and a good friend of mine, Ben, who is a close friend of Jeff Hoffman (I know Jeff) that the government has placed orders to purchase 1 biliion, yes that's correct, 1 billion rounds of S&W 40.

Ben is very close to Jeff and was asking him if he had any 223 available. Jeff indicated that he did not have one single round in the place at Black Hills Ammunition. BHA was just featured in the ON TARGET magazine that came late last week.

I also learned of some other scary stuff about the Chinese military in Mexico, and the Germans bivouacking in Canada. Wished I knew if more of this was/is true.

Whiz White, I didn't see a smiley anywhere on your message, so I'll take it as true. If this is in addition to the 1.625 billion I have already heard about, that makes a mighty big pile of ammunition. Next, I guess, is just how many Feds are authorized to carry sidearms? Apparently the number is quite a bit higher than back when I had some idea of who was who.

If I was an American citizen in the employ of the Federal Government, sworn to uphold the Constitution, and became aware that a large number of citizens feared me because of policies brought into play by bureaucrats above me, backed by the President - I would be Very, Very concerned about the Republic.
