CUSTOM 390 PRICING?

Ok guys I need your help, i have built ( over the past 10 years ) a custom 390 sport Beretta. after getting back into shooting I purchased a Beretta combo to play all the games. I hate to see this "Safe Queen" sit and not see the firing line, but with the market and economy I would appreciate your input on value.

Beretta 390 Sport 30" bbl.

Ballistic Specialty back-bore to .735.

No porting.

Ballistic Specialty Trigger package

Custom chokes 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35.

Ballistic Specialty friction choke wrench.

Ballistic Specialty bolt closer.

HI-VIZ sight.

Mercury forend weight/recoil reducer ( I think 6 oz).

Soft-Touch custom composite stock.

Blue agate water transfer finish.

Two recoil springs for the S-T stock ( heavy, normal ).

Adjustable position recoil pad.

100% nickle electroplated action and bbl .

gold plating on trigger group and forend plate ( front of action ).

Action block and pins left black to accent nickle.

I also have a few old springs from the last time I replaced all of them.

needles to say I have a bunch of money in this gun and would rather keep it than take a beating, and I don't need the money. I just hate to see it sitting.
So what do you think is a fair and reasonable price to list this gun?

So it seems to me there is a lot of negativity towards the Soft-Touch, so my next question would be what is the value without furniture, or with wood? i have no problem keeping the soft-touch and either lower the selling price or just re-install the original wood, what would make this gun the most marketable to the people on this site?

Most people that don't like a Soft Touch haven't shot a Soft Touch. The trouble is that they are expensive, and you usually can't get all of your investment back at resale. IMO it adds value to the gun, but not to the point of the initial cost. The reality is that many guns are more valuable parted out. Mark

Thanks for the offer Jerry B, but it looks to me that if I sell this gun it will have to be parted out, and that would be a shame. I have never seen( on this site ) a gun WITH a Soft Tough stock go for less than one without, nor have I seen a ballistic specialty 390 go for less than a standard 390. and every nickle plated p-gun is worth more than a non-plated gun. so what I have learned in this thread, and I have a hard time believing, is that if I had a p-gun( or ANY gun ) that had bbl mods ( wilkerson, baker, ballistic, briley, money maker, wrights, ect. ) nickle plated receiver and iron, fully adjustable stock, and recoil system, and all the choke options included would sell for less than a plain-jane version. Maybe I am just one of those people that sees value in upgrades. I appreciate your opinions and your input, and I will agree that the best thing to do is keep this one of a kind 390 for myself...

Thanks.

Usually all the trick stuff won't bring more money, but it will sell faster. If the equipment is what I desire, I snap it up, and save a lot of money compared to having the mods done myself. The only problem with soft touch or G square or others is that if the LOP is too far off for you, it can get expensive to make it fit you.

At a gun show, not too long ago, I bought a Remington 1187 trap with an early Soft touch stock and a Simmons extra high rib, ported barrel for $450. That is less than a stock 1187 trap would sell for. Lesson is to modify your gun to suit yourself, not for resale. Mark
