I put a $50 Tasco 3x9x40 on. Works really well for me. I am a believer in not being cheap when buying glass, but this Tasco is not a bad scope on the 17hmr. Deadly accurate!
This spring I put a BSA scope on, it came with 2 turrets. 1 for 17gr and another for 20gr bullets.took it to the range and marked the turret for the different yardages. The rifle is now a tack driver from 25yds to 100.
This pic is from a couple years ago, but we put a Bushnell Banner 4x12 on a Savage 93 17HMR. It has taken MANY g-hogs and this coyote. It is money out to 125 yards.

I have the Cabela's 17 HMR scope one mine. You just dial the yardage and shoot it.
After sighting it in at 100 yrds, I dialed and hit clay birds at 200 and 300 yards on the first shot.
My longest kill was on a prairie dog at 267 yards first shot.

I have a 2-6 x 32mm Bushnell Trophy on my Taurus Tracker revoler .17HMR and a 3.5-10 x 36mm .17 sniper on my Ruger rifle. Both scopes are excellent and prices reasonable.
