I have an older 1100 trap with a barrel code of A W M 7. S/N on the gun is 219XXXV (x's are actually numbers) As the gun has no letter prefix, I was told it was manufactured prior to The number 7 is in a larger font than the letters. The leletters A and W are the same size and the letter M is slightly larger but smaller than the number 7. I have looked around and I have seen that the codes are derived off of the words B-L-A-C-K-P-O-W-D-E-R-X. B being 1, L being 2 etc. The first number is supposed to be the month making mine a March manufacture I think. There is some conflict with the last 2 letters as they indicate 2 different years. I have been told that since my SN has no letter prefix it denotes it was manufactured prior to 1968. How do you determine the year for sure?
