I go to 1 oz of 8 1/2 shot for summer shooting (except handicap). Anyone else do the same? I’m thinking a little better patten density for 16yd. Thoughts?
Yes, all year. 1oz. 8 1/2's from the 16. Never noticed a difference in winter to summer. When it is 20 degrees outside it is my shooting that is affected. Not the shot. Still breaks the targets if I do my part.
1 ounce of 8.5s, TGT12 wad, 17.5 grains of Clays, R209 in an STS hull is my old buddy John Lumn's favorite singles load. I saw him break a few 100's with that load. I might shoot some this weekend in honor of John.
