Spolar Wads?

What is the opinion(s) amongst users of Spolar Wads regarding their benefits vs. other comparable wads? I've noticed them on the Spolar web site and also the DownRange website but I personally know no shooters who use them.

I use them also. The 1 1/8oz wad is a Windjammer style.
The 1oz is the AA style. On the pattern board they are great
out of my CG. I feel that because of the patterns I get, the price
is a very small part of the equation. If they pickup 1 or 2 birds
in a match, they've more then paid for themselves.
I load in both AA and STS hulls.

Let's see ... you shoot 300 birds and it costs you a whole $1.20 more to use the Spolar wads.

So what do you get for your $1.20?

Less plastic build up in the barrel

Less recoil ... remember the weight of the wad is important in figuring recoil

Perfect fit in AA and STS hulls

Sounds like a winner to me! (Maybe that is why I have been using them since the 1st came out!)

Edited to add:

Spolar wads cost $91 per case of 5000 Claybuster wads are $83.99 from Graf & Son ............ therfore, only $7 difference, not $20!

Straight from Recobs website today. Downrange XL1-Jammer 1oz 79.99 per 5K Downrange WJRPL 1 1/8oz 73.99 per 5K Downrange Spolar 1oz or 1 1/8oz 99.99 per 5k original windjammer 1oz or 1 1/8oz 66.99 per 5k.

Is the gold color worth between $20 (30%) and $33 (49%) more per 5K. That choice is yours to make. Since I could find NO improvement in the performance or load-ability over the original Windjammers let alone the normal Downrange wads I chose to save the money so I could buy more shot.

I've used the original Windjammers for my 1-1/8 load and found them a real pita to use. They come out of the bag all folded up...a real mess. Tried the dryer trick, which helped a bit. Then tried Spolar Gold. Plastic is super slick and they come out the the bag near perfect. MUCH easier to load. And I gotta tell you...one trip to the pattern board will convince you of the value. Most consistent patterns I have ever seen. Not to mention, virtually no plastic buildup in the barrel. I won't load with anything else.

But I could be wrong....
