Do they help cut down the glare off of orange targets? Our club throws all orange targets that are difficult for me to see. I get glare on a bright sunny day and sometimes it just seems like the target is blurry. Would polarized lenses help? I use the clip on Ranger lenses and it looks like they are available in a polarized version.
When I had mine made they came in Green and brown only. Yes, I could not shoot in the summers down here without them. The reduced glare allows me see the targets better and keeps my eyes wetter and more focused. High winds and higher light to pupels drys my eyes out, which causes other problems as well. Best of Luck to you. Break-em all. Jeff
Polarized lenses are grey. I find they take nearly all of the "fuzz" from all orange targets. If you ask for #15 vermillion they really isolate those all orange and even the orange dome targets from most background. They suck in a "mottled" cloudy sky.
I bought some polarized lenses and had to give them away. They really messed with me. I gave them to my brother who after one round also swore he would never wear them again.
I guess everyone is different but they are pricey so you might see if you can borrow someone's lenses and try them before you buy them.
While I typically use the Ranger CMT on bright sunny days, I had Wayne Morgan fix me up one of his Hi-Contrast Brown Polarized for hunting and I've also used it for clays - tremendous!
I have Decot Polorized lenses in Brown and Purple, they do cut down on the glare and reflection ... They are considerably more costly than the regular lenses but they are worth the difference when you need them ... They are actually to dark unless its a really sunny day ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
I have to agree with WPT. There are conditions when for me they are worth their weight in gold. I have copper polarized Ranger XLW lenses that I find for me to be more useful than their CMT lenses. Normal, even bright crisp sunlight, days I still prefer my dark purple non-polarized and for the cloudy dull days my light purple non-polarized work well.
IF you get a chance to try some for a few rounds do so because as was said above what works for some may not work for you.
