The guys at Great American Gunstock Company can fix you up. You can buy a standard issue or what I did was buy a great piece of quilted maple for $80.00 (http://www.3dhardwoods.com/2dwoods.html) and they are grinding a semi-custom stock for my 99+ for only $120.00. I'll do the final sanding and finishing.

I hope everything turns out okay with your stock because I have read so many negative comments about this company it sounds like a real crapshoot doing business with them. Apparently they can do good work but do an internet search and there are numerous unhappy customers with this company.

I think you can find replacement stocks for a BT 99 at Midwestern Gunworks

Bridger,

I did the search and found 3 negative comments dating back to 1999. Not very many considering they have done a fair volume of work since then and have most stock patterns available. Do you know anyone personally that has dealt with them or are you willing to rely on a 3 internet postings?

We deal with thousands of customers each year. 99.9% of them are real nice and reasonable people. The other .1% can not be satisfied and nothing is their fault and one or 2 each year do complain to the local BBB which we always answer. (The last one that did eventually found out from a judge he was wrong).

It is unfortunate how people are willing to bad mouth a company on just hearsay. We should remember that no matter how thin you slice it, a piece of ham still has two sides and we need to look at both.

I do not know anyone personally who has had dealings with them. But I have read numerous negative comments about them on various bulletin boards going back to the old Shooters.com bulletin board which is no longer in existence. But go over to Shotgunworld.com or Doublegunshop.com and do a search. 3 negative comments alone would have been enough for me to avoid them but if you check these and other firearm bulletin boards there are some real horror stories about their work and there are also those who have been pleased. On the other hand I have never read a negative comment about Wenigs. Good luck with your project and I hope it all goes well for you. You're right in that many people cannot be satisfied no matter what is done for them but I think there is more to it than that with this company.
