Wow, I had paid the deposit and was ready to go, but then had to withdrawl. Good thing I did because I would have had it all set up with work and the wife.
**Funny just after posting this I was called also. They are changing the dates becasue it conflicts with the Reno Shoot.
I got the call a short time ago. Our flights were booked.
Now I only have a couple of days until the Great Lakes Grand if I go to LV. That will affect my work commitments. I need to think this through but I am looking at canceling.
Very unfortunate for all. We were looking forward to it, but now it may not work for us now
I understand how Reno would impact the locals. Placing it just before the GLG will affect others. I know they will learn from this year and plan accordingly for next year.
Due to an inadvertent scheduling conflict with the Golden West Grand, we have moved our shoot date two weeks later to the 16th-20th of May. We are pleased that we were able to rework our supplier contracts because it is very important that our shoot benefits both the Clark County Shooting Park and the Nevada State Trapshooting Association. We appreciate the efforts by the NSTA Board and the Shooting Park management to facilitate this change.
We wanted to notify all participants prior to posting which we now have been able to do. Also, we are covering airline change fees for any registrants that incur them.
A little inconvenience is going a long way to make sure everyone benefits and our shooters have a good time.
Yes, we couldn't be sure of the change until we got all parties in agreement and there were several moving pieces. As soon as we knew, our staff started calling all of our registrants which did take some time.
I used frequent flier miles and Delta is charging me $300 per ticket (two tickets) to cancel. I need to cancel due to conflicts with work and the Great Lakes Grand.
If you had made the commitment to LV1000 before you booked your flight, it is likely they will accept responsibility for your cancellation or re-booking costs. I am sending my "proof" tomorrow and will see what they do.
I have made plenty of mistakes in my work life and learned it is how you correct them that counts. I sure hope they can schedule around the "big" shoots next year. They are trying to do something to put some pizazz into the game and had a mis-step.
There is no question that your claim will be handled promptly as soon as your paperwork is received. We wish you could have joined us but look forward to next time.
Gary.
jakers,
I will put your answer on our Las Vegas 1000 Update thread.
It is very admirable of you to reschedule the tournament. Having what would be he two largest tournaments in the State held at the same time would be a detriment to the attendance of both. Thank you Gary.
